Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent application of excessive tension onto a V-belt by providing a speed control means for naturally reducing the radius of the V-belt at an input pulley side. CONSTITUTION:The motor drive voltage and the rotary speed of motor 10 to be obtained from the motor drive voltage (the speed for enlarging the inter- sheave distance of an input pulley 24) are set to synchronize with the narrowing rate of inter-sheave distance of an output pulley 25 due to centrifugal force of a V-belt and the force of a return spring 17 upon droppage of tension of the V-belt by such degree as causing no slippage. Consequently, the V-belt 5 moves on the pulley faces of the output pulleys 24, 25 with tension scarcely applied thereon and obtains a specific target speed change ratio quickly.
