TO PROVIDE A CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION HAVING A CENTRIFUGAL MECHANISM IN WHICH A MOVABLE CAM MEMBER IS PREVENTED FROM BEING AXIALLY VIBRATED WHEN THE SPEED CHANGE RATIO OF THE CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION BECOMES THE TOP RATIO. A CENTRIFUGAL MECHANISM 51 OF A CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION INCLUDES A FIXED CAM MEMBER 26 FIXED ON AN INPUT SHAFT 23, A MOVABLE CAM MEMBER 54 AXIALLY MOVABLY SUPPORTED ON THE INPUT SHAFT 23, AND CENTRIFUGAL WEIGHTS 55 DISPOSED BETWEEN CAM FACES 261, 541 OF BOTH THE CAM MEMBERS 26, 54. WHEN THE CENTRIFUGAL WEIGHTS 55 ARE MOVED RADIALLY OUTWARD BY CENTRIFUGAL FORCES, THE MOVABLE CAM MEMBER 54 IS MOVED TOGETHER WITH THE SPEED CHANGE CONTROL MEMBER 56 SO THAT THE SPEED CHANGE RATIO IS SHIFTED ONTO THE TOP SIDE. BEFORE THE CENTRIFUGAL WEIGHTS 55 REACH THE RADIALLY OUTWARD ENDS OF THE CAM FACES 261, 541, THE SPEED CHANGE CONTROL MEMBER 56 IS BROUGHT IN CONTACT WITH THE STOPPER 631, TO THEREBY RESTRICT THE MOVEMENT OF THE MOVABLE CAM MEMBER 54 IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION.
