Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a pneumatic tire in which a steel cord using a curvilinearly processed wire as a core wire is used as a reinforcing material, preventing the fatigue failure of the core wire by holding the core wire by a vulcanized rubber and excellent in durability and in safety. CONSTITUTION: A core wire is curvilinearly processed by passing it through a space between, for example, gears for a wave-shape processing. The obtained wire is passed through a hole of a collecting board for a stranded wire of a twisting machine as a core wire 1, wires 2 each having the same diameter as that of the core wire are arranged at an interlayer and wires 3 each having the same diameter as that of the core wire are arranged at an outermost layer. The wires are twisted together in the same twist and pitch to make a steel cord. The objective tire is obtained by using the steel cord as a carcass layer.
