Abstract
PURPOSE:To allow a shell side fluid to flow in substantially parallel to a tube side fluid so as to reduce a pressure lowering of the shell side fluid and to improve the heat transfer coefficient by using flat shaped thin plates as heat transfer tube support members on the shell side and installing these thin plates at a specific interval. CONSTITUTION:An inner cylinder 6 is provided between a shell body 2a and heat transfer tube groups 3 through an inner support member 7. A plurality of support members 5 of heat transfer tubes are installed between heat transfer tube groups 3 under a condition of Ps/de<=30, where Ps represents an interval of support members installed, and de, an equivalent diameter of the inside of a shell side flow path. A tube side fluid 9 flows into a tube side head 4a from a tube side inlet nozzle 2b, and further flows within a plurality of heat transfer tubes. A shell side fluid 8 flows into a shell body 2a through a shell side inlet nozzle 2b, and into an inner cylinder 6 and flows in parallel to and along heat transfer tubes 3. In this case, the tube side fluid 9 and the shell side fluid 8 are heat-exchanged with each other through heat transfer tubes 3. Furthermore, the shell side fluid 8 is turned down of its flow path area in the vicinity of the support members 5 of heat transfer tubes, and is again expanded when it leaves this region, thus generating disturbances in the flow. Further, since the shell side fluid 8 passes the parts where the support members 5 are installed, for ns times, a mean heat transfer coefficient hs is improved.
