Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a material to be recorded for providing a recording image having less deterioration due to indoor discoloration by setting pH of a coating layer to 7 or higher. CONSTITUTION:A coating layer to be formed on a base material is of a porous layer obtained by coating and drying the base material with aqueous coating solution made mainly of silicon-containing pigment, and aqueous binder, and pH of the coating layer is adjusted to 7 or higher. When a recording is executed with ink made of aqueous dye on a material to be contained with a silicon- containing pigment by an ink jet recording method, the indoor discoloring resistance of an image to be formed is remarkably low, but when the coating layer having at least pH7 is formed, the indoor discoloring resistance can be remarkably improved without loss of excellent coloring property of the material to be recorded with the pigment.
