Since it cannot expand and contract freely due to sleepers, trackbeds, etc., it is latent as internal stress. However, when this overcomes track resistance, the bolts at the joints break, the rail itself breaks, or the structure between the rail and sleeper slides. This is the so-called railway buckling phenomenon, and all of these are causes of serious train accidents.

That is, the rail 4 is placed in a predetermined position at the temperature, and the rail 4 is fixed to the sleeper 3 with the gap 6 set to a specified value. In this case, the temperature

An abnormal condition occurs. Furthermore, recently, the rise in temperature of the rails due to electric train current for electric operation has been cited as one of the causes of the above-mentioned stress generation.

There is. Recently, a sensor that detects this magnetic anisotropy (hereinafter simply referred to as an anisotropy sensor) has been developed. Figure 2a shows the structure of this anisotropic sensor 7. Excitation coils E 1 and E 2 and detection coils D 1 and D 2 are wound around two U-shaped cores 8a and 8b, respectively. The excitation coils E 1 and E 2 are connected as shown in FIG. Such an anisotropic sensor 7 is a magnetic body 9 having magnetic anisotropy.

The pattern of d changes from a solid line to a dotted line in a similar manner depending on the magnitude of stress.

There is a possibility that the stress generated in the rail can be estimated from the amount of change in the detected voltage value. The gist of the invention described above lies in this point; the detected voltage by the anisotropic sensor is measured in advance for the rail in the standard setting state on the local track to understand the characteristics, and the detected voltage and rail temperature are measured later if necessary. This constitutes a method for determining the equilibrium of orbital stress or its propriety.

Therefore, it is necessary to measure the detection voltage ν d with respect to the standard state for each rail, but this is likely to be difficult in practice.

The anisotropic sensor 7 is glued to the side surface of the rail 4, for example as shown in FIG. 3b. As shown in Figure 3c, the angle θ between the planes of the excitation coils E 1 and E 2 and the axis of easy magnetization A (assumed to coincide with the direction of pressure) is set from 0°.
The angle is varied over 180°, and the pressure P is also varied as a parameter.

Regardless of the value of , starting from the same voltage ν d0 ,
As P increases, θ at the point where voltage ν d =0 near θ=90° becomes larger. In other words, it can be seen that the value of θ that gives the zero point of ν d changes. This phase shift amount Δθ is approximately linear with respect to the compressive force P, as shown in FIG. 3c.

は勿論である。 The fact of the phase shift described above is a new finding, and if the measurement points are limited to fixed positions on the rail surface for rails of the same type, approximately standard characteristics can be found for many rails. Therefore, if such standard characteristics are created in advance, the internal stress value can be estimated by measuring the phase characteristics of an arbitrary rail. However, it goes without saying that it is necessary to take temperature conditions into consideration and to conduct the process for each type of rail.

Become. When the angle θ changes from 0 to 360° due to the rotation of the anisotropic sensor 7, the voltage Vd draws a pseudo SIN curve and shows four zero points. Zero point detector 19 generates a zero point pulse to shift shift register 21 when voltage Vd=0. On the other hand, the value of rotation angle θ is determined by potentiometer 1.
2, it is output continuously in analog quantity,
The shift register 21 via the A/D circuit 20
is captured for each zero point pulse. The subtracter 22 connected to the output side of the shift register 21 described above calculates the value of θ between adjacent zero points. By subtracting 90° from this, the amount of phase shift Δθ can be obtained. However, since four values of Δθ are obtained within θ=0 to 360°, the arithmetic circuit 23 calculates the average absolute value of these four data. next,
A stress P corresponding to the above-mentioned Δθ is output based on a conversion table of stress P versus phase shift amount Δθ determined in advance by actual measurement of the rail. In this case, 4 above
The memory calculation circuit 23 determines and outputs whether the stress P is a compressive force or a tensile force, depending on whether the sign of the first data among the pieces of data is positive or negative.
Note that the stress value is converted into a value of 25° C. by the temperature conversion circuit 24 based on the temperature information from the thermometer 14.
