Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the improper detection of lack of tape by providing a black color part on the outer surface of the core member of a tape pad installed on a tape winder and detecting the exposure of the core member with a photo sensor. CONSTITUTION:A black color part 13 is provided on the outer surface of a core member 12 for winding a tape 11, and a reflecting type sensor 4 in which light emission and light receiving are integrally formed is used for a photo sensor. Thereby, at the time of detecting lack of tape, the light of the photo sensor 4 is reflected by the tape 11 and a tape winding operation is carried out while detecting this reflected light. As the remaining quantity of the tape is reduced starting to expose the black color part 13 on the surface of the core member 12, the reflecting light is sharply lowered. By detecting this condition with the photo sensor 4, the equipment is stopped to carry out the replacement of the tape pad 1.

FIG. 4 is an explanatory diagram of another example of the conventional tape-free detection method, in which the same symbols as in FIG. 3 indicate the same parts. In this method, a reflective tape 04) such as aluminum foil is attached to the outer surface of the core material (12) of the tape pad (1), and when the tape (U) on the tape pad (1) runs out, the optical sensor In this method, the light from the light projector (4^) is reflected by the reflective tape (14) and the presence of the tape is detected by detecting the received light M<481.

As shown in Figure 4, a reflective tape (14) is pasted on the outer surface of the core material (12), and detection is performed using the reflection of light from the reflective tape (I4). Depending on the direction, there may be problems such as zl operation due to diffuse reflection of light or detection errors due to dirt on the reflective tape (I4). In particular, with chi7'high) filled with paraffin, etc.
? There are problems such as detached paraffin powder adhering to the optical sensor and causing detection failure.
