However, polyphenylene ether is inferior in moldability and impact resistance, and furthermore, its flame retardance is not sufficient by itself.

。When phosphoric acid esters are blended into polyphenylene ether as a flame retardant, they exhibit excellent flame retardant effects and also improve moldability due to their plasticizing effect. Alternatively, it is important to avoid a significant decrease in mechanical strength such as tensile strength (and even more important). This is due to the fact that molding materials containing polyphenylene ether require a relatively high temperature of 250 to 300°C, which poses a serious problem in practical terms. For example, triphenyl phosphate and tricresyl phosphate.
Even after these are kneaded into the resin phase, about 20% of them may volatilize when heated to around 300°C.

すれば、不充分である。As a technique to solve the problem of volatility of phosphate esters, Japanese Patent Application Laid-open No. 55-118957 discloses the use of aromatic phosphate ester polymers, and US Patent No. 588561
The specification of No. 5 uses trimedityl phosphate, and JP-A-57-50757 uses an aromatic phosphoric acid ester mixture represented by the following average formula (the amount in the formula is slightly larger than 0 and 3). It is an integer or a fraction from 1 to 2, and - is an integer or fraction from 1 to 2.) Each is disclosed. In the case of the above-mentioned aromatic phosphate ester polymer, the volatility problem is solved by the use of this polymer. However, since the combustion effect is inferior to that of triphenyl phosphate, a large amount of aromatic phosphate ester polymer is required to produce a polyphenylene ether resin composition having equivalent combustion performance. This causes a decrease in the performance of the polyphenylene ether resin composition, such as Izot impact strength and heat distortion temperature. Further, in the case of trimedityl phosphate, the flame retardant effect on polyphenylene ether resin compositions is superior to that of the aromatic phosphate ester polymer, but it is still not sufficient. Furthermore, the reduction in heat distortion temperature is also promoted,
There is room for improvement. In the case of the aromatic phosphate ester mixture disclosed in JP-A No. 57-30757, the volatility problem has been solved compared to triphenyl phosphate, etc.;
Compared to the aromatic phosphate ester polymer disclosed in the above publication, this is insufficient.

Bulletin No. 57255 also discloses a similar method of adding an aromatic halogen compound. Halogen-containing compound St
It has an excellent feature not seen in phosphoric acid esters in that it has almost no plasticizing effect on polyphenylene ether, and when blended with polyphenylene ether, its heat resistance is not impaired. On the other hand, when halogen-containing compounds are used as flame retardants, plumes may be generated due to the migration of halogen-containing compounds to the surface of molded products, and corrosion of molding machines and molds due to thermal decomposition products of halogen-containing compounds may occur. It is well known that problems arise.

The flame retardant effect of tris(2゜5,6-drimethylphenyl) phosphate on polyphenylene ether resin compositions is superior to that of triphenyl phosphate, so the same degree of flame retardancy can be achieved with a smaller amount added. l) U.S. Pat. No. 388
Tris(2,3,A-)limethylphenyl)phosphate has a superior flame retardant effect on polyphenylene ether resin compositions than the trimedityl phosphate disclosed in No. 36139, and has improved performance. The level of maintenance is also high.
