相溶性の不良に起因するものである。On the other hand, JP-A-49-50050 discloses a technique for improving the moldability, that is, melt flowability, of polyphenylene ether by blending polyester resin with polyphenylene and ether. However, according to research conducted by the present inventors, although the blending of polyester resin certainly improves the melt flowability of polyphenylene ether, the amount of polyester resin that accounts for 20% by weight or more in the composition is It has become clear that in this case, the inherent mechanical strength, especially tensile strength, of polyphenylene ether is significantly impaired. The resin composition thus obtained is not a material that can withstand practical use. Furthermore, when a polyester resin is blended with polyphenylene ether, the solvent resistance of the polyphenylene ether is improved, but the degree of improvement in solvent resistance is proportional to the amount of polyester resin blended. Therefore, if the intention is to provide sufficient solvent resistance, a polyester resin with multiple waves must be blended, and as mentioned above, such a blend is undesirable because it results in a decrease in mechanical strength of the resulting resin composition. This will lead to undesirable results. In any case, the phenomenon that the mechanical strength of polyphenylene ether is impaired when a polyester resin is blended with polyphenylene ether is due to poor compatibility between polyphenylene ether and polyester resin.

The terminal blocks A and A' may be the same or different, and the blocks are made of a thermoplastic homopolymer or copolymer derived from a vinyl aromatic compound in which the aromatic moiety may be monocyclic or polycyclic. It is. Examples of such vinyl aromatic compounds are styrene,
Mention may be made of alpha-methylstyrene, vinyltoluene, vinylxylene, ethylvinylxylene, vinylnaphthalene and mixtures thereof. The central block B is a conjugated diene hydrocarbon, such as 1,3-butadiene, 2°3-
Elastomeric polymers derived from dimethylbutadiene, isoprene and 1°3-pentadiene and mixtures thereof. The molecular weight of each end block A and A' preferably ranges from about 2.000 to about 100.000, while the molecular weight of central block B is preferably about 2.000 to about 100.000.
It ranges from 5°000 to about 1.000.000.

Compared to a composition in which polyphenylene ether is blended with a polyester resin and a phenoxy resin, or a composition in which polyphenylene ether is blended with a polyester resin, a phenoxy resin, and an unsaturated carboxylic acid, extremely unique properties are expressed. Strength, especially tensile strength and elongation at break 1, is improved.

It is understood that a blended state was formed and the resin composition of the present invention had the above-mentioned unique effects.
