PURPOSE:To improve an intake/exhaust efficiency by forming the diameter of each of intake and exhaust valves in the center larger than those of ones on both sides in the captioned device in which each three intake and exhaust valves are provided interposing an ignition plug provided in the center of a combustion chamber in between, on a cylinder head. CONSTITUTION:An ignition plug 3 is screwed in the center part of the combustion chamber 2 of a cylinder head 1 and three intake valves 4 are provided on one side of the combustion chamber 2 while three exhaust valves 9 are provided on the other side. The intake and exhaust valves 4, 9 are formed into a mushroom type, energized in a closing direction by means of valve springs, and opened and closed by the rotation of cams 7, 12 on top of cam shafts 6, 11 via rocker arms. And, in this case, out of each three intake and exhaust valves 4, 9, the valve diameters of the intake and exhaust valve 4, 9 in the center are formed larger than the valve diameters of the intake and exhaust valves 4, 9 on both sides.
