Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable stable generation of a power without being influenced by an amount of precipitation, to reduce an expense for building of dam, and to enable to perform hydraulic power generation at a low cost, by a method wherein hydraulic power generation is effected through utilization of head of sea water. CONSTITUTION:Sea water A is isolated by a land H. A filtering device B serves to prevent entrance of a foreign matter to a generator E in a power generating plant F and to prevent impedence of sailing of a ship. A sluice valve C cuts off sea water when the generator E is maintained and serviced or a trouble on a service pipe line D occurs. Further, a drain port G is adapted to discharge sea water after power generation therethrough.

[Detailed Description of the Invention] The present invention aims to generate hydroelectric power by utilizing the drop in seawater found in the Panama Canal. Conventional hydroelectric power generation is greatly affected by the amount of precipitation, but with the present invention, there is no need to worry about this and stable power generation is possible. Also, since a dam is not required, there are no problems such as land acquisition, tracking, submergence, etc.
It greatly expands the possibilities of hydroelectric power generation, as it can be constructed at low construction cost.
