<Prior art> In steel plate hot rolling mills, etc., local wear occurs only at the part where the work roll contacts the rolled material, so in order to roll the material into a sheet with a normal thickness distribution, the rolling order of the rolled material must be changed. It is necessary to shift from wide width to narrow width, and conventionally, most plate rolling mills have adopted such rolling order regulation based on plate width.

However, such regulation of the rolling order based on the strip width requires the rolling type to be set up so that the rolled strips passed through the rolling mill move from wide strips to narrow strips one after another. Because they are unable to assemble, their volitional efficiency is greatly hindered.

Moreover, the hot-rolled material (slab) sent to the rolling mill or the heating furnace, which is a pre-process thereof, must be stored and prepared in accordance with the rolling order, so a vast slab storage space is required. This poses a problem that requires a large initial investment in equipment. For this reason, there is a desire for a measure to eliminate the above-mentioned restrictions on rolling stock.

In recent years, particularly in the case of hot rolling, a process has been adopted in which a slab supplied from a continuous casting facility is charged into a heating furnace as a hot piece, or it is directly rolled. Along with this, there is an increasingly strong demand to abolish restrictions on rolling order based on sheet width.

In order to eliminate such restrictions on the rolling order, local wear of the work roll due to contact with the rolled material must be corrected by grinding as needed, and rolling must always be performed using a work roll with an appropriate profile. Every time a work roll wears out, it is replaced with a new work roll, removed from the rolling mill, and then the worn roll is sent to a roll grinder for grinding, which significantly increases the downtime of the rolling mill and seriously impedes work efficiency. Therefore, as a countermeasure to this problem, an online roll grinding method has been proposed in which grinding is performed while the work roll is still installed in the rolling mill.

In this device, the wrinkled roll l is ground by pressing a rectangular grindstone piece 2 onto the circumferential surface of the rotating work roll l and reciprocating the grindstone piece 2 almost parallel to the work roll l. It looks like this. The grindstone piece 2 is held by a grindstone holder 3, and is pressed against the surface of the work roll 1 by a hydraulic cylinder 4. The hydraulic cylinder 4 slides on the sliding bed 5 together with the grindstone holder 3 by a drive mechanism (not shown), and reciprocates the grindstone piece 2 as described above.

<Problems to be Solved by the Invention> In the conventional online roll grinding method, the grinding surface of the grindstone piece 2 is always pressed against the surface of the work roll l during the grinding operation. The drawback is that the sharpness becomes dull in a short period of time due to eye damage or blindness. As a result, the work roll l cannot be maintained with the required shape accuracy, and it is difficult to grind within a specified time.If this is to be avoided, the grindstone must be replaced frequently, which reduces work efficiency. is greatly inhibited.

<Operation> The roll is ground by pressing one of the plurality of grindstone pieces attached to the outer periphery of the carpet holder against the roll surface. The grinding operation continues until the grinding wheel pieces are formed, and when the sharpness deteriorates due to clogging or crushing, the grinding wheel holder is indexed and rotated by a certain amount around its rotation axis to move to the next new position for grinding all the grindstone pieces. In this way, the grinding work is continued using a new grinding wheel piece (without any scratches, etc.). The old grinding wheel piece that has been removed from the grinding position after finishing the grinding operation is dressed on the ground surface during the grinding operation with another grinding wheel piece to restore the hole and cutting quality and prepare for the next grinding operation.

During the grinding operation using the one whetstone piece 2, the whetstone piece 2
When the sharpness of the grinding surface begins to deteriorate, the grinding wheel holder 70 rotation device 8 is activated by a command from the controller IO, and the grinding wheel holder 7 is rotated by the entire required angle (90° in the illustrated example), and the grinding that has been performed until now is completed. At the same time as the grindstone piece 2 is removed from the grinding position, the next grindstone piece 2 is moved to the grinding position t to continue the grinding work. When the sharpness of this grindstone piece 2 decreases again, the next grindstone piece 2 is similarly moved to the grinding position, and this operation is repeated 9 times in order to continuously grind the work roll.

The grindstone piece 2, which has deteriorated in sharpness and has been removed from the grinding position as described above, is placed on the dresser 9 when it is positioned above the grindstone holder 7.
The blade is dressed (sharpened) to restore the required sharpness and prepare for the next grinding. The nine dresser dressing devices 6Kj are driven and rotated to make a predetermined cut to the grindstone piece 2, and are moved parallel to the work roll 1 to dress the grindstone piece 2. Of course, this dressing operation is performed in parallel while the other grindstone pieces 2 are performing the grinding operation.

<Effects of the Invention> According to the method of the present invention, when the cutting quality changes due to clogging or blindness of a grindstone piece during online grinding of a rolling roll, it is immediately switched to the next grindstone piece and the entire grinding process is continued without any hindrance. As the sharpness changes as the sharpness changes, the sharpness of a piece of a whetstone changes during the grinding process with another piece of the whetstone, and dressing is done to rotate the sharpness of the piece of whetstone. Grinding work can be performed continuously without replacing. Therefore, compared to the conventional method, the frequency of replacing the grindstone is significantly reduced, the efficiency of the grinding work is greatly improved, and the effect of online grinding of the rolling rolls can be maximized.
