PURPOSE:To easily know the relation between the characteristics and physical position of a magnetic disk by displaying the characteristics circularly along tracks of the magnetic disks when displaying the characteristics according to a signal read out of the magnetic disk by a magnetic disk driving device. CONSTITUTION:The A/D converter 16 of a waveform strage device 12 receives and converts the head output signal of the magnetic disk driving device 10 into a digital signal, which is stored in a memory 18. A control circuit 20 controls the writing and reading of the memory 18 in response to the index signal I of the driving device 10 and also controls the clock speed of the A/D converter 16 and memory 18. A processor 22 such as a computer processes the digital signal read out of the memory 18 and displays the result on a display device 14. The processor 22 converts the sampling speed of the head output signal determined by a clock frequency into angle information on the magnetic disk.
