Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve starting performance after warming-up by constructing a thermowax cylinder with a cylindrical piston sliding by predetermined amount and a small piston therein, in a design for opening and closing a starter passage of a carburetor by thermister heating system thermowax. CONSTITUTION:A valve 2 opened and closed by thermowax 6 is provided in a starter passage 1 supplying starting fuel of a carburetor. At the time of low temperature starting of an engine, wax 8 in a thermowax 6 is contracted to release the valve 2 and to supply starting fuel. Simultaneously a positive characteristic thermister 7 heats the wax 8 to press down a fluid body 10 through a flexible film 9 and a cylindrical piston 11 provided with a small piston 12 is pressed down to close the valve 2 to stop supply of starting fuel. When the wax 8 is expanded, the cylindrical piston 11 is brought in contact with a shoulder portion 6a and stops, and only the small piston 12 is pressed down. As the wax 8 retains closing of the valve 2 at the time of re-starting after warming-up, starting performance is improved.

内に挿入した小ピストンを設け、筒ピストンと小ピスト
ンを介してロッドを押出すようにしたので、ロッドの動
きを二段階にできて、停止後ロッドの縮みを遅らせるこ
とができる。このため、停止後スターター通路が開くの
が遅くでき、暖機した機関を再始動するときオーバーリ
ッチの燃料になるのが防げて、始動が容易になる。
