Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent deformation and immersion into water of weather strip by pressing the outercircumferential section at the upper end of window glass with a projection formed a the fixing base section in the hollow section of main seal lip upon full-close of window glass. CONSTITUTION:Weather strip 5 is provided with fixing base section 6, main seal lip 12 coupled to said section 6 and contacts against the window glass, outer seal lip 8 for covering the outercircumferential section at the upper end upon closing of the window glass 4 and hollow sections 7, 13 formed between respective lip 12, 8 and the fixing base section 6. Here, a projection 14 is formed at the fixing base section 6 in the hollow section 7. Consequently, upon full- closing, the window glass 4 will pull up the main seal lip 12 to contact through wall section against the side section of the projection 14 in cabin. As a result, deformation of weather strip 5 due to strong discharge of water during car washing is prevented while intrusion of water through the joint with the window glass is also prevented.

FIG. 4 shows a technique disclosed in, for example, Japanese Utility Model Application Publication No. 58-12018, in which the weather strip 5 is made of rubber,
It is formed into a hollow shape by extruding an elastic material such as synthetic resin, and the parts formed on both sides of the mounting base 6 fit into the U-shaped grooves on both sides of the retainer 16 attached to the outer panel. Outer seal lip 8 outside the vehicle body and main seal lip 9 inside the vehicle body.
゛, it has a bending bridge 10 which crosses the hollow part 7 and connects the inner surface of the mounting base 6 and the connection part between the outer seal lip 8 and the main seal lip 9, and extends generally toward the passenger compartment 11. The projection 11 is formed on the outside of the vehicle at the bent portion of the bent bridge 10 which is bent into a letter shape.

However, in such a conventional weather strip for a satsure-less door, even if a protrusion is formed in the bending bridge or the hollow part of the outer seal lip, the pressing force of the window glass deforms the part, so the window glass The force of pressing the tip of the glass peels off, and the sealing force on the outside of the Tosa edge of the window glass is particularly weak. For this reason, when a strong water spray is applied to the boundary line between the weather strip and the windshield during a car wash, the weather strip may be deformed by the water pressure, and water may seep into the vehicle interior from this area.

Furthermore, forming protrusions on a thin bent bridge or outer seal lip has disadvantages in that, in the case of rubber, the shape is difficult to stabilize because of extrusion and continuous vulcanization molding, which is disadvantageous in terms of production technology.

In FIG. 1, the weather strip 5 includes a mounting base 6, a main seal lip 12 connected to the mounting base 6 and abutting against the windshield 4, and a main seal lip 12 that contacts the windshield 4 when the windshield 4 is closed.
Outer seal lip that can be deformed to cover the outer circumference of the upper end of the window glass 4 8. and main seal lip 12
A hollow portion 7°13 is formed between the outer seal lip 8 and the mounting base 6, and further within the hollow portion 7,
This configuration has a projection 14 formed on the mounting base 6.

When the window glass 4 is fully closed, the weather strip 5 deforms as shown in FIG. The pawl shield glass 4 presses the main seal lip 12 upward and comes into contact with the side of the projection 140 on the interior side of the vehicle through the wall 12&. Further, the outer seal lip 8 is pulled by the main seal lip 12 and deforms so as to cover the outer peripheral edge of the upper end of the window glass 4. The trajectory of the upper end of the window glass 4 when the window glass 4 is fully closed by opening and closing the door is in the direction shown by the chain ilA. This is different from the case where the windshield 4 is sucked out to the outside of the vehicle due to negative pressure when the vehicle is running at high speed when the windshield 4 is closed. Therefore, when the windshield 4 is sucked out in the direction of arrow C when the automobile is running at high speed, the tip of the windshield 4 is prevented from moving by the protrusion 14 through the wall 12& of the main seal lip 12.

Furthermore, the base of the main seal lip 12 with the outer seal lip is pulled when the windshield comes into contact with it, and a force in the direction of arrow F acts on the upper end of the windshield, causing the Tosa end of the windshield to Press to cover the entire area.

The mounting position, shape, and size of the protrusion 14 are set according to the following conditions. (1) The tip of the windshield 4 (2) has a size that effectively prevents movement of the windshield 4 due to suction, and (3) the main seal lip 12 is deformed when the windshield 4 is fully closed. The outer peripheral edge of the upper end of the windshield 4 comes into contact with the inner side of the protrusion 14, and the protrusion presses the inner wall of the main seal lip 12 from inside the hollow part, causing the upper end of the windshield glass 4 to be pressed by the main seal lip 12. Make sure to wrap it.

As explained above, the present invention has a completely closed part of the windshield at the mounting base in the hollow part of the Oussane trip, and the outer periphery of the upper end of the windshield is strongly suppressed through the main seal lip. The weather strip does not deform even when exposed to strong water spray during car washing, and the main seal lip wraps around the top of the windshield, preventing water from seeping in from the joint with the windshield. This ensures that the area inside and outside of the vehicle is kept moist.

Further, since the protrusion is formed on the mounting base, it is possible to effectively prevent the windshield from moving toward the outside of the vehicle due to the suction phenomenon during high-speed driving.

Furthermore, it has the effect that the shape stability is improved by extrusion continuous vulcanization molding compared to the bent bridge of the protrusion tU or the hollow part of the outer seal lip.
