Abstract

PURPOSE:To separate a magnetic head from a magnetic tape contactlessly in modes other than a recording/reproducing mode by inserting a magnetic head displacing device between the magnetic head and a magnetic head supporting body and actuating said displacing device on the basis of an operation mode signal. CONSTITUTION:A thickness sliding piezoelectric vibrator laminating body 17 is formed by laminating thickness sliding piezoelectric vibrators 21-2n. Each piezoelectric vibrator is formed by fitting electrode plates 31a, 31b-3na, 3nb to both the sides of piezoelectric ceramics and has a polarization axis in the arrow direction. When voltage V is impressed to terminals 19, 20, thickness sliding vibration is excited in each piezoelectric vibrator and the magnetic head 14 is displaced. In the recording and reproducing mode, DC voltage form a power supply 64 is supplied to the laminating body 17 through a slipping means 65, and in other operation mode signals, said power supply is stopped.

Detailed Description of the Invention [Technical Field] The present invention relates to a magnetic recording/reproducing device such as a video tape recorder (hereinafter abbreviated as VTR), and particularly relates to improvements in means for preventing wear and damage of a magnetic head and a magnetic recording medium. .

In general, VTRs have five operating modes: recording, playback, fast-forwarding, eight-rewinding, and stop. Above 5
Of the two modes, only the recording mode and the reproduction mode require the magnetic head to be in contact with the magnetic tape as a recording medium. However, in conventional VTRs, the magnetic head and magnetic tape are in contact even in other modes. As a result, the magnetic head and magnetic tape are subject to wear and damage. For example, in fast forward mode and rewind mode, the magnetic tape runs at a higher speed than in recording and playback modes, and the tension on the magnetic tape is greater, which can cause significant wear and even damage to the magnetic head. This was a cause of shortening the life of the head. Furthermore, the magnetic tape was also scratched by friction with the magnetic head, resulting in a reduction in image quality.

On the other hand, in the stop mode, the magnetic head repeatedly scans the same position on the magnetic tape over and over again, which causes severe wear on the magnetic head, as in the case of the fast-forward, rewind, and seven-speed modes. There was a problem in that the magnetic tape was scraped off by the magnetic head, making the magnetic tape unusable.

In addition, in the above-mentioned stop mode, there is a device in practical use that weakens the tension of the magnetic tape and reduces the contact pressure, but this does not result in a completely non-contact state, so it is necessary to prevent wear of the magnetic head as described above. It has not yet been completely prevented.

In order to achieve the above object, the present invention is characterized by the following configuration. That is, a magnetic head displacement device using a piezoelectric element as a displacement element is inserted between a magnetic head provided so as to be able to contact a magnetic recording medium and a magnetic head support supporting the magnetic head, and a magnetic recording/reproducing device The operation mode of the main body is discriminated by an operation mode discriminator,
By operating the magnetic head displacement device based on the operation mode signal emitted from the discrimination device, the magnetic head is moved to the first position where the magnetic recording medium is magnetically recorded and the magnetic recording medium according to the operation mode. It is characterized in that it is displaced to a second position where it does not come into contact with the medium.

The magnetic head displacement device may be constructed by laminating a plurality of thickness-shear piezoelectric vibrators, each having their polarization axes in a direction parallel to the electrode surface, so that their polarization axes are parallel to each other to form a laminate. One end surface is fixed to the magnetic head support, the magnetic head is attached to the other end surface, and a signal voltage is applied to each piezoelectric vibrator, so that the magnetic head is moved in the same direction as one edge direction of each piezoelectric vibrator. It is desirable to use a device configured to obtain a displacement between the first and second positions.

(1) A magnetic head provided so as to be able to come into contact with a magnetic recording medium, a magnetic head support that supports the magnetic head, and an operation mode discrimination device that discriminates the operation mode of the main body of the magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus and issues an operation mode signal. , a first position where the magnetic head is in contact with the magnetic recording medium and a second position where the magnetic head is out of contact with the magnetic recording medium based on the operational mode signal emitted from the operational mode discriminator. 1. A magnetic recording/reproducing apparatus comprising: a magnetic l\\rad position device using a piezoelectric element as a displacement element, which is inserted between the magnetic head and a magnetic head support so as to displace the magnetic head to a position.

(2) A magnetic head displacement device is constructed by laminating a plurality of thickness-shear piezoelectric vibrators whose polarization axes are parallel to the electrode planes so that their polarization axes are parallel to each other to form a laminate. One end surface is fixed to a magnetic head support, a magnetic head is attached to the other end surface, and a signal voltage is applied to each piezoelectric vibrator to displace the magnetic head in the same direction as the sliding direction of each piezoelectric vibrator. The magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus is configured to obtain a displacement between a first position and a second position.
