DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a plating apparatus, and in particular, to a plating apparatus that continuously applies plating to a strip-shaped sheet, in which plating metal does not adhere to the guide roller of the strip-shaped sheet and impair stable plating work. The purpose is to do so.

Conventionally, when creating double-sided flexible printed circuit boards,
A band-shaped sheet with conductive foil pasted on both sides is perforated, the sheet is plated, and the double-sided conductive foils are electrically connected to each other through the plated metal film formed in the perforations. In order to automatically perform this work, a plating apparatus as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 is used.

That is, the strip-shaped sheet having conductive foil affixed to both sides is perforated and then sequentially passed through three plating tanks 2 and transported in the direction of the arrow. A pair of guide rollers 3 are arranged between the first and second plating tanks and the second and third plating tanks, respectively, so as to sandwich the sheet. It functions to supply electricity to the conductive foil. The three plating tanks mentioned above have the same structure, and as shown in the cross section of one plating tank in Fig. 2, the plating tank is filled with a sulfuric acid steel plating solution 4, and two steel plates are placed in the plating solution 4. 5 is immersed, the positive electrode of the power source is applied to the steel plate 5, and the negative electrode of the power source is applied to the roller 3. The strip-shaped sheet is transported through waterproof inlets and outlets 6 provided at the front and rear surfaces of the plating tank 2, respectively, and passes through a plating solution 4 within the plating tank 2. According to such a plating apparatus, heat generation occurs due to contact resistance between the roller 3 and the sheet while the belt-shaped sheet is being transported, and the surface of the roller dries, causing the metal in the plating solution on the sheet 1 to be transferred to the surface of the roller. The metal adheres to the roller, making the power supply for plating unstable, and the surface of the sheet 1 becomes rough due to the metal adhering to the roller.
There was a drawback that the quality deteriorated.

The metal attached to the rollers cannot be easily removed because the metal is plated onto the rollers, requiring troublesome work such as periodically scraping the surface of the rollers or replacing the rollers themselves. there were. The present invention eliminates such conventional drawbacks, and one embodiment thereof will be described below with reference to FIG. 3 and subsequent drawings.

In the drawings from FIG. 3 onward, the same components as in FIGS. 1 and 2 are designated by the same numbers and detailed explanations will be omitted. In the figure, reference numeral 7 denotes a power supply loaf having the same function as the roller 3 described above, but its outer peripheral surface is plated with hard chrome and has a mirror finish. That is, after forming a hard chrome layer on the outer periphery of the loaf 7, it is polished with a puff to give it a mirror finish. Also, such a roller 7 and a belt-shaped sheet 1
A cleaning liquid 9 such as water or dilute sulfuric acid is sprayed through a nozzle 8 onto the contact area. In this way, the surface of the roller 7 that contacts the sheet is made of a hard chromium layer, which is hard to corrode, and the surface is mirror-finished and very smooth, making it difficult for plated metal to adhere to the surface of the roller as in the past. Moreover, even if it adheres to the back surface of the roller, it can be easily washed away with water because its adhesion to the back surface of the roller is weak.

Further, during this washing, the roller 7 and the sheet are cooled and their heat generation is suppressed, and adhesion of the plated metal to the roller 7 is further suppressed. In this way, adhesion of plating metal to the surface of roller 7 can be completely prevented, stable plating work can be performed, and the sheet 1 can be transported without damaging the surface.

In the above embodiment, the roller 7 is plated with hard chromium on its surface, but the roller 7 is not limited to this, and the entire roller may be made of hard chromium, and hard chromium is corrosion-resistant. Other materials with excellent acid resistance and conductivity may be used instead.

Moreover, even if the belt-shaped sheet 1 has only one side as a conductive surface,
The same applies even if the sheet 1 itself is made of a conductive material. As explained above, in the plating apparatus of the present invention, the outer circumferential surface of the roller that guides the conveyance of the belt-shaped sheet and supplies electricity is made of a corrosion-resistant and conductive material and has a mirror finish, and the roller and the sheet are connected to each other. Since the cleaning liquid is supplied to the contact area, it is difficult for plated metal to adhere to the outer peripheral surface of the roller, and even if it does, it is washed away by the cleaning liquid and the roller and sheet are cooled by the cleaning liquid, making it difficult for the roller to generate heat. It acts to further suppress the adhesion of plated metal to the outer circumferential surface, so that the outer circumferential surface of the roller is always kept smooth, and stable power supply and sheet transport are achieved.
