The sulfur hexafluoride gas sealed in the metal sheath of a conduit aerial cable is normally sealed at a pressure of 2.5 to 50 k9/m to form an insulator, so of course the metal sheath must withstand this pressure. The joints of the metal sheaths must also withstand this pressure, maintain airtightness, and have a structure that prevents even the slightest leakage. For this reason, metal sheaths are generally welded together. In addition, as the cleanliness of sulfur hexafluoride gas decreases, the insulating properties decrease, so it is necessary to prevent spatter generated during welding from entering the sheath. is interposed and tightened to maintain airtightness and prevent spatter from entering. However, if there is a scratch on the O-ring or the surface that presses it, or if a foreign object is caught, it will not be possible to maintain airtightness or prevent spatter from entering. Therefore, in order to maintain the cleanliness of the insulating gas and maintain airtightness, it is desirable to ensure airtightness with a circle ring before welding. The present invention provides a metal sheath connection method in which the area to be welded is temporarily airtight before welding, an airtightness test is performed, and after welding, the airtightness of the welded area is confirmed and the test hole is completely sealed. To explain the embodiment shown in FIG. 1, metal sheaths 1 and 1 to be joined are each circumscribed with a tightening ring 2, an annular rubber packing 3, and an adapter ring 5 having a step 4 formed on the inner periphery. The rubber packing 3 is iron-fitted within the annular groove 6 formed on the inner periphery of the joint surface.
Furthermore, an elastic ○ ring 7 made of rubber is attached to the sheath 1 and housed in the cavity 8 formed by the step 4 of the adapter ring 5, and a collar 9 is placed on both sheaths to be joined. Both ends of the ring 7 are inserted into the empty chamber 8, and the ring 7 is sandwiched between the collar side end and the stepped portion 4.

An annular groove 10 is formed on the inner periphery of the adapter ring 5, and two test holes, a test hole 11 communicating with the outside and a test hole 12 communicating with the cavity 8, are formed on both sides of the stepped portion 4 of the adapter ring 5. The adapter ring 5 and the rubber packing 3 are tightened with the bolts 13 with cotton pads inserted through the tightening rings 2 and 2 on both sides, and the O-ring 7 is tightened with the end face of the rigid part 4 of the adapter ring 5 and the collar 9. After that, the inside of the adapter ring 5 and the outer peripheral surface of the collar 9, which are the locations to be welded, are sealed with a highly elastic rubber packing 1.
4, and after applying a temporary airtight seal instead of welding with a tightening band 5, the test holes 11 and 12 were evacuated, and the final vacuum level and vacuum stop test were determined to be ○.
The airtightness between the ring 7 and the rubber packing 3 and the O-ring 7 and the rubber packing 14 was tested to confirm that the O-ring 7 maintains airtightness inside and outside the sheath 1, and to prevent spatter and gas from entering during welding. Make sure that it can be completely prevented. Tightening band 1 that seals adapter ring 5 and collar 9 after confirming airtightness as described above
5 and the rubber packing 14 are removed, and this part is fixed by spot welding.

In this state, the ring 7 remains tightened and the collar 9 and adapter ring 5 are integrally connected. Next, the vertical rings 2, 2 and the rubber packings 3, 3 are removed, the sheath 1 and the adapter ring 5 are welded a, and then the collar 9 and the adapter ring 5, which were previously spot welded, are completely welded b. After confirming the airtightness with the ○ ring 7 in this temporary airtight state and completing the welding work, the airtightness of the welded part is tested by applying a predetermined test pressure from each test hole 11 and 12 to check the soundness of the welded part. After confirming, insert adapter ring 5 into test hole 1, 1.
A plug 16 made of the same material is applied and welded c to seal it. It has been empirically confirmed that if airtightness is confirmed in the vacuum test as described above, it can also withstand a pressure test, and when insulating gas is pressurized into the sheath 1, the airtightness is ensured.

In addition, since the collar 9 and the adapter ring 5 are spot welded in an airtight state with the O-ring 7 tightened, spatter during welding does not enter the sheath, and the collar 9 and the adapter ring 5 are integrally joined. Since the 0-ring is kept in a tightened state, even if the tightening ring is removed, the airtightness of the ○-ring is maintained, and sputtering is prevented from entering when welding the sheath and adapter ring, and the collar and adapter ring, and the insulating gas is cleaned. degree is ensured. It should be noted that welding a, a between the adapter ring 5 and the sheath 1 on either the left or right side can be welded in the factory together with welding b, b between the adapter ring 5 and the collar 9, and the other side can be welded in the field for better workability. Get better.

Furthermore, the method of joining the sheaths with a collar as in the present invention is superior to the butt joining of flanges in that it is more flexible in both the length and lateral directions. As described above, according to the present invention, one collar, two adapter rings, and two
Since the ring is welded, there are fewer parts compared to the inner and outer double collar type, and the work is easier and cheaper to connect. Unlike the inner and outer double collar method, there is no need for competition between the inner and outer collars, and the core of the inner collar and sheath. Accidents such as galling due to joint work will be eliminated.

In addition, the adapter ring and collar are temporarily joined by spot welding at a location where there are no tightening bolts, and then the bolts, tightening rings, etc. are removed, and the sheath and adapter ring and the entire circumferential surface of the temporarily joined collar and adapter ring are completely connected. It has the advantage that the fasteners do not get in the way of the work because the fasteners do not interfere with the work, and the welding work can be carried out without any obstructions. The fasteners can be removed by spot welding in on-site work where it is not possible to invert or overturn the sheath. This makes it easier to perform welding work that requires complete airtightness, and has a significant effect on improving efficiency.

1. Fit an adapter ring onto the joint of the metal sheath in the air conduit cable, provide a recessed step on the inner periphery of the adapter ring to form a space between the sheath and the adapter ring, and insert the O-ring. Then, a test hole that reaches the sheath surface and a test hole that communicates with the cavity are bored on both sides of the O-ring that is in contact with the stepped part, and a test hole that reaches the sheath surface and a test hole that communicates with the cavity are formed between the externally fitted joining sheath so that the cavity of the adapter ring faces each other. Fit the collar on the outside, insert both ends into the empty chamber, use a tightening tool, and tighten the stepped part and the end of the collar.
After tightening the ring, the adapter ring and the sheath and between the adapter ring and the collar are temporarily sealed, and the airtightness of the O-ring is tested using the test hole, the temporary seal between the adapter ring and the collar is removed, and the adapter ring and the collar are sealed. Fix the collar by spot welding, remove the fasteners, completely weld the sheath and adapter ring, and the entire circumferential surface of the spot welded collar and adapter ring. After testing and confirming the soundness of the welding using test holes, each test hole is A metal sheath connection method for aerial cables characterized by welding and sealing.
