Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the manufacturing efficiency of a lead storage battery and improve the reliability of an area where a sensor is attached by covering the area by a lid seal which has a thin section at least in its peripheral area. CONSTITUTION:A container 1 in which plates are installed, has a lid 2 provided with liquid hole plugs 3 and an area 4 where a sensor is attached. A lid seal 9 covers the threaded cylindrical section of the lid 2. It has a thickness of 0.5mm. or less which is smaller than the thickness of the lid 2. Because of the above constitution, when attaching a liquid level sensor, specific gravity sensor or similar equipment, it is easily possible to open the lid seal 9 by pressing it with a finger in the direction indicated by arrow (a). Besides, area 4 can have a flat surface, thereby preventing any adhesion of impurities such as dust or water. By the means mentioned above, it is possible to increase the manufacturing efficiency of a lead storage battery and to improve the reliability of the area 4.

FIG. 2 is a sectional view taken along the line AA in FIG. 1, and is an enlarged sectional view of the sensor mounting portion 4. FIG. Reference numeral 5 denotes a threaded tube portion provided through the lid 2, and reference numeral 6 denotes a temporary liquid port plug attached via a rubber gasket 7 to close the screw tube portion 5. With this configuration,
When attaching the sensor to this lead-acid battery, the temporary liquid port plug 6 was removed and installed. However, in this case, the temporary liquid port plug 6 and the rubber gasket 7 must be provided separately, which significantly increases the material and cost. However, this is extremely wasteful in terms of productivity and cost, and if the temporary liquid port plug 6 is accidentally reattached to the threaded tube portion 6 after the sensor has been installed, the battery may explode. FIG. 3 is a cross-sectional view taken along the line AA of the sensor mounting portion 4 shown in FIG. 1, which is another conventional example that has been made to solve the above-mentioned problems. The same numbers as those in FIG. 1 are given to the same sections. Reference numeral 5 denotes a threaded cylindrical portion provided on the lid 2, and the bottom surface is provided with a thin wall portion 8 that is thinner than the wall thickness of the lid 2. When installing the sensor, this thin wall portion 8 was broken and the sensor was installed. .

According to this configuration, there is no need for temporary liquid spout plugs or rubber seals, and the number of assembly steps can be reduced. However, since the thin wall portion 8 is provided at the bottom of the threaded cylinder portion 6, four portions are formed on the surface of the lid 2. Impurities such as dirt and moisture may enter the battery before the sensor is installed, adversely affecting battery performance, and impurities may accumulate in the threaded tube 5 when the sensor is installed. There were many problems in terms of reliability, such as poor fitting.

Structure of the Invention The lead-acid battery of the present invention includes a container having an electrode plate and the like therein, and a lid provided in an opening on the top surface of the container and having a sensor mounting portion on the top surface, and the sensor mounting portion is connected to the sensor mounting portion. It consists of a threaded cylindrical part provided on the lid, and a lid mouth part that covers the threaded cylindrical part and has a wall thickness thinner than the thickness of the lid,
When a liquid level sensor, specific gravity sensor, etc. is required, it can be installed simply by opening the opening of the lid material.
The structure is simple, productivity is high, and there is no need to worry about moisture or other impurities entering when installing liquid level and specific gravity sensors, making it a highly reliable lead-acid battery.

FIG. 6 shows a first embodiment of the present invention, and is a sectional view taken along the line AA in FIG. 4. In FIG. 5, reference numeral 9 denotes a lid opening having a thickness thinner than that of the lid 2, and is provided so as to cover the threaded cylinder portion 5 exposed in the lid 2.

According to this configuration, when attaching a liquid level sensor, specific gravity sensor, etc., the lid opening 9 can be easily opened by pressing the lid opening 9 in the direction of arrow a with a finger or the like. Surface, specific gravity sensor, etc. can be easily installed. Since the sensor mounting part 4 has a flat surface and no unevenness, impurities such as dust and water do not accumulate, and the appearance is improved. Furthermore, a shallow groove is provided around the back side of the lid opening 9.
Fig. 6 shows a second embodiment of the present invention, in which a recess 11 is provided on the surface and periphery of the lid 2 corresponding to the threaded cylinder portion 5 provided on the lid. According to this structure, when attaching a liquid level sensor, a specific gravity sensor, etc., the lid opening 10 can be easily removed by simply applying the lid opening 10 in the direction of the arrow a. It can be opened to reduce the amount of dirt, water, etc. that accumulates. Furthermore, the lid sealing sound 5
Since the wall thickness around the opening 10 is made thinner to accommodate the provision of the recessed part 11, there is no possibility that the opening will be caused by a large amount of deformation force when the opening is opened.

FIG. 7 shows a third embodiment of the present invention, in which the lid sealing sound hole 2 is made to protrude from the lid surface, and a thin walled part 13 is provided, so that when opening the lid, the lid and the sealing part 12 are moved in the direction of the arrow. This is a bar that is used to lift and break open the thin-walled groove 13.

Next, the first. Second. In any case of the third embodiment, the thickness of all the threads of the threaded cylinder part and the lid sealing part that covers it, or of some of the thin parts, is clearly determined by the experimental results shown in Fig. 8. , wall thickness 7% 0, 1~o, bmm f

Effects of the Invention As is clear from the description of the above embodiments, the lead-acid battery of the present invention eliminates the need for unnecessary steps and material costs such as installing several separate parts such as temporary liquid plugs until the sensor is installed. Furthermore, since the opening of the lid material is not concave, there is no possibility that impurities such as dust or moisture will enter the battery case when the sensor is installed, resulting in extremely high reliability.
