Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the feeling of gear shifting operation, by providing a detent bar on the bottom of a gearshift guide plate and elastically urging the bar to be engaged with the intermediate part of a gearshift bar to keep it from moving. CONSTITUTION:A detent bar 6 is protruded sideward from the lower part 7b of a gearshift bar 7. A detent bar 5 is provided on a neutral guide plate 4 mounted on the main part 12 of a gearshift guide plate 3, so that the detent bar can be turned up and down about a pivot 20. The detent bar 5 has a recess 5b and is urged downward by a wound spring 8 to engage the recess with the detent bar 6. The pivot 20 is placed on the reverse-gear-position part of the detent bar 5 and the urging point of the wound spring 8 is placed on the third- gear-position part of the detent bar.
