Follow. Conventional paint manufacturing equipment has disadvantages in that the equipment is large, requires a large space, and is difficult to operate continuously. The present invention improves the drawbacks of the conventional apparatus as described above, namely, the kneading and dispersion of the mill base and the mixing and adjustment of the kneaded and dispersed mill base with other components that do not need to be kneaded and dispersed are carried out in one step.
The purpose of the present invention is to provide an efficient kneading and dispersing machine that can perform the mixing and dispersion process using a single device, the equipment for this purpose can be downsized, and can continuously manufacture paints and the like. That is, the present invention provides an inner cylindrical container which has a mill base supply port at one end and a product discharge port at the other end, and allows the mill base to be continuously supplied from the supply port to gradually advance toward the product discharge port; A cooling jacket installed on the outer peripheral wall of the container; A mesh partition wall that divides the inside of the container into a kneading and dispersion chamber loaded with dispersion media and a mixing chamber and allows the mill base to pass through; Installed in the center of the container a rotating rod that penetrates through each of the chambers; a stirring member located in each of the chambers and attached to the rotating rod; and supplying components other than the mill base, such as a resin solution, solvent, and additives, to the mixing chamber. The millbase is kneaded and dispersed in the kneading and dispersion chamber, and the millbase kneaded and dispersed in the mixing chamber and components other than the millbase are uniformly mixed. This relates to a kneading and dispersing machine. DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS An embodiment of the apparatus of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1 is a longitudinal sectional view of the horizontal device. The horizontal device mainly consists of an inner cylindrical container 1 suspended horizontally or at a slight upward slope with respect to the horizontal plane toward the product outlet end; a cooling jacket 2; and a rotating rod 3 to which a stirring member is attached. Ru. The inner cylindrical container 1 has a mesh partition wall 4 made of wire mesh, slits, etc.
It is divided into a kneading and dispersing chamber 5 and a mixing chamber 6. There is no particular restriction on the shape of the mesh of the mesh-like partition wall 4, but it is necessary to have holes that allow the mill base to pass through but not the dispersion media 7. The present invention is characterized in that the inner cylindrical container 1 is divided into a kneading and dispersing chamber 5 and a mixing chamber 6 as described above.

That is, since solid particles such as pigments need to be kneaded and dispersed until they become almost primary particles, a suspension with a high concentration of solid particles, that is, a mill base, is kneaded and dispersed in the kneading and dispersion chamber 5, and then kneaded and dispersed. The mill base that has been mixed and dispersed is uniformly mixed and adjusted with other components that do not need to be kneaded and dispersed, such as a resin solution, solvent, and additives, in the mixing chamber 6, and thus the kneaded and dispersed mixture is mixed in one container 1. Because it can perform both functions at the same time, it is smaller than conventional equipment and has the feature of being able to operate continuously. The kneading and dispersion chamber 5 is loaded with about 60 to 80% by volume of the dispersion media 7, and the rotation of the stirring member 8, such as a disk plate, attached to the rotating rod 3 causes shear stress between the dispersion media 7. This allows the mill base to be kneaded and dispersed.

The dispersion medium 7 can be determined as appropriate depending on the type of mill base, the degree of kneading and dispersion, etc., but in the case of ordinary paints, the particle size 1
~5ml/L of glass, porcelain, alumina, steel, stainless steel, zircon, etc. can be used. Further, a disk plate is suitable as the stirring member 8 in the kneading and dispersion chamber 5, and the stirring efficiency is further improved by having a large number of holes in the entire surface or having a donut shape. }, the interval between the stirring members 8 is 5 to 20 (7 fL, the length is 70 mm of the inner diameter of the inner cylinder container 1)
About 95% is preferable. Further, the rotational speed of the stirring member 8 is 100 to 1000 r. p. m. The degree is appropriate. Nah}
In the apparatus shown in FIG. 1, only one kneading and dispersion chamber 5 is provided, but if a higher level of kneading and dispersion is required, as shown in FIG. It is divided into a plurality of chambers (three chambers in the drawing) by partition walls 4', 4'', etc. similar to 4, and the diameter of each chamber is gradually reduced in the direction of movement of the mill base as the dispersion media 7 of each chamber. It is preferable to use

Further, by using dispersion media whose specific gravity is gradually reduced along with the diameter, a higher degree of kneading and dispersion can be obtained. That is,
When kneading and dispersing a mill base, the mill base initially contains secondary agglomerated coarse particles and a large amount of energy is required to disperse them to a certain extent. things are appropriate. In addition, in order to further disperse the millbase kneaded and dispersed in this way to the vicinity of the primary particles, it is necessary to increase the number of collisions so that the energy can be propagated evenly, rather than using large amounts of energy. Therefore, it is appropriate for the dispersion media to have a low specific gravity and a small particle size. Therefore, it is desirable to gradually reduce the particle size of the dispersion media in the direction of movement of the mill base, and more preferably to reduce the specific gravity, so that high-level kneading and dispersion can be achieved. Next, a stirring member 8 such as a stirring blade is attached to the rotating rod 3 in order to uniformly mix and adjust the mill base kneaded and dispersed in the mixing chamber 6 and other ingredients. Further, it is desirable to install a baffle plate 9 in the mixing chamber 6 in order to prevent paint that has not been mixed uniformly from passing by. Although the horizontal kneading and dispersing machine shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 has been described above, a vertical kneading and dispersing machine as shown in FIG. 3 can also be used in the present invention.

Next, when kneading, dispersing, mixing and adjusting using the apparatus of the present invention, for example, in the case of paint, it is necessary to use a millbase in which the surfaces of solid particles such as pigments are pre-wetted with other components of the paint such as solvents. is desirable. To knead and disperse such a mill base, the mill base is pumped (not shown) while rotating the rotary rod 3 by means such as a motor (not shown).
The mill base is then press-fitted into the kneading and dispersion chamber 5 from the mill base supply port 10. The amount of mill base introduced depends on the rotation speed of the stirring member 8 such as the disk plate or stirring rod, and the kneading and dispersion chamber 5.
The residence time in the kneading and dispersion chamber 5 is usually about 2 to 20 minutes, although the retention time in the kneading and dispersion chamber 5 is determined as appropriate depending on the volume of the dispersion medium, the type of mill base, or the degree of kneading and dispersion required by the mill base. A length of about 1 minute is appropriate. The mill base thus kneaded and dispersed passes through the partition wall 4 and enters the mixing chamber 6.

During operation of the equipment, a cooling medium such as water is introduced through the cooling medium inlet 13 and taken out through the cooling medium outlet 14 to prevent the equipment from generating heat. Further, when the dispersion media 7 is exhausted, it is taken out from the dispersion media input port 15 and newly replenished. The device of the present invention has the above-mentioned configuration, and is capable of simultaneously kneading and dispersing the mill base and mixing and adjusting the kneaded and dispersed mill base with other ingredients, so the device is significantly more efficient than conventional devices. It has the characteristics of being able to be miniaturized, and being capable of continuous kneading, dispersion, and mixing adjustment.
