Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve early reduction of the luminous flux due to the discoloration of the inner tubes of a fluorescent lamp, which is constituted by vertically inserting a plural number of curved inner tubes into a spacer so that they work as electric discharge paths, by coating the inner-tube supporting part of the lamp with a very thin protective film. CONSTITUTION:A lamp part (A) is constituted of an outer tube 1, U-shaped inner tubes 2, a spacer 3 and a stem 4. A phosphor 5 is applied to the inner surfaces of the inner tubes 2, then sintered. The spacer 3 is provided with inner-tube insertion holes 7a-7f having parts 6 formed by spot facing. A connection hole 8 is provided between the insertion holes 7a and 7b, and a connection groove 9 is provided on the lower surface of the spacer 3, between the insertion holes 7d and 7c. Lead wires 11 and spacer- fixing sealed wires 12 are airtightly fitted into the stem 4, and electrodes 13 are attached to the lead wires 11. After assembling the inner tubes 2, the spacer 3 and the stem 4, they are sealed in the outer tube 1 before it is exhausted, and the outer tube 1 is charged with an electric discharge gas. In such a lamp part (A), an inner-tube supporting part consisting of the spacer 3, the sealed wires 12, an adhesive and the like, is coated with a very thin protective film made of, for example, TiO2. As a result, the generation of CO is suppressed, and early reduction of the luminous flux due to the discoloration of the inner tube 2 can be improved.

Next, let's talk about assembly. First, both open ends of each inner tube 2 are fitted into the counterbore portions 6 of the inner tube insertion holes 7a to 7f, and then attached to the spacer 3 using an adhesive such as a heat-curable heat-resistant inorganic adhesive or glass frit. Fix in an airtight manner. This airtight fixation does not necessarily require airtightness as long as the gap created between the outer wall of the inner tube 2 and the counterbore 6 of the spacer 3 is made small. Next, the spacer 3 integrated with the inner tube 2 in this way is attached to the stem 4, and the electrodes 13, 13 provided on the stem 4 and the enclosed wire for fixing the spacer are inserted into the inner tube insertion hole provided in the spacer 3. 7c, 7f and the enclosing wire insertion groove lO, respectively. To fix the spacer 3 and stem 4,
This is done by bending the spacer fixing encapsulation line U toward the inside of the upper surface of the spacer 3. Through this step, the electrode 11 and each inner tube 2 are connected in series to form one discharge path. The fixing of the spacer 3 to the stem 4 does not necessarily require airtightness as long as the gap is made small. After the entrance end of the outer tube 1 and the outer periphery of the stem 4 are hermetically sealed, the lamp part A is completed by performing the usual electrode material activation process, exhausting, and charging gas for discharge from the exhaust pipe 14.

Therefore, lead glass (

The time change in the luminous flux when a 6W input is given shows that the luminous flux rapidly decreases in the following manner. At the same time, the outer wall of the inner tube 2 is colored brown. If you measure the transmittance of the glass at this time, it is clear that it rapidly decreases in the shape of a .

First, consider the mechanism by which the inner tube 2 is colored brown as described above. 18 generated from mercury in the discharge lamp space
The inner tube holding part (consisting of spacer 3, encapsulating wire, adhesive, etc.) inside the tube is exposed to 5 nm and 254 nm ultraviolet rays.
This is because the CO released from the inner tube reacts with PbO, the glass component of the inner tube 2, to form PbO + Co → Pb + Cow, and Pb precipitates on the outer wall of the inner tube, coloring it brown. There was found.

Therefore, as a result of testing by coating the inner tube holding portion, which is the source of CO, with a dense protective film (eg, Ties), the luminous flux was improved and the transmittance was also improved.

As described above, the present invention comprises a plurality of bent inner tubes arranged in series with spacers interposed in the airtight space formed by the outer wall and the stem, and at least one of the connecting portions of the inner tubes is arranged in series. In a fluorescent lamp in which the inner tube is opened to the airtight space and electrodes are provided at both ends of the inner tube arranged in series, and the inner tube serves as a discharge path, the holding portion of the inner tube is covered with a dense protective film. Since it is characterized by a coating, it was possible to improve the early decrease in luminous flux due to the decrease in glass transmittance due to the coloring of the inner tube.
