Therefore, in order to prevent scratches from occurring due to springback when winding a stainless steel strip, it is usual to insert a paper called a slip between the copper strips while winding the steel strip. Therefore, when performing skin pass rolling of a stainless steel copper strip, it is usual to perform skin pass rolling by unwinding the coil while pulling out the slip paper from the copper strip coil in which the slip paper is sandwiched. An example of such conventional stainless steel strip temper rolling equipment is shown in FIG.

It is pulled out, and the interleaving paper 4 is wound up by the interleaving paper winder 5. On the other hand, the stainless steel strip 3 fed out from the coil 2 passes through a deflector roll 6, is welded to the preceding copper strip in a welding machine 7, and then passes through a priddle roll 8, an anti-crimping roll 9, and then a two-high rolling mill or the like. This temper rolling mill 10 applies a light reduction with a rolling reduction rate of about 0.8 to 1.2%, and then passes through a leveler 11 and a pre-roll roll 12 to shear t113 to remove the preceding copper strip. Then, it passes through the deflector roll 14 and is wound onto a tension reel. Note that during this winding, another slip sheet 16 is supplied from the slip sheet feeder 17, and the coil 1 to be wound is
It is inserted between the 8 copper strips. Note that the leveler 11 may be bypassed depending on the shape and thickness of the copper strip.

たのが実情である。By the way, in many cases, stainless steel strip products are required to have excellent surface properties, and therefore not only are they required to have no major surface defects or discoloration, but even minute scratches are possible. It is desirable that it does not exist. There are various possible causes for the occurrence of minute flaws in stainless steel strips, but the inventors of the present invention have conducted various studies and found that the cause of the occurrence of minute flaws in the temper rolling process using the above-mentioned temper rolling equipment is caused by coil It was discovered that scraps of interleaving paper inserted between the copper strips and foreign matter such as scale and dust that had adhered to the surface of the copper strips from the previous process had a major effect. In other words, when the slip sheet is wound into a coil together with the copper strip, or when the slip sheet is pulled out at the same time as the coil is unwound, it is inevitable that the slip sheet rubs against the copper strip, resulting in minute paper scraps. Scale, dust, etc. often remain attached to the surface of the copper strip due to insufficient sufficiency, etc. In the conventional equipment described above, such interleaving paper scraps and foreign matter reach the rolling mill 10 while remaining attached to the surface of the copper strip. It is caught between the rolls together with the strip, causing minute scratches on the surface of the copper strip. However, the reality is that conventionally no countermeasures have been taken against the occurrence of micro-defects during temper rolling due to such interleaving paper scraps and foreign matter.

The cleaning bag W120 is configured to spray a cleaning liquid such as warm water onto the surface of the copper strip and brush it with a roll brush 20A or the like to remove paper waste and foreign matter adhering to the surface of the copper strip. There is. Further, the drying device [21 is for drying and removing cleaning liquid such as hot water applied to the surface of the copper strip by the cleaning device 120, and is configured to, for example, blow warm air onto the surface of the copper strip. .

As described above, the paper scraps and foreign matter adhering to the surface of the copper strip are washed and removed, and the cleaning liquid is further dried by the drying device 121. A dry copper strip with no adhesion is supplied. Therefore, it is possible to effectively prevent the occurrence of scratches due to interleaving paper scraps and foreign matter in the temper rolling mill, and since temper rolling is performed in a dry state, products with excellent surface gloss and uniform mechanical properties can be obtained. I can do it. In other words, if a silk cloth wetted by the cleaning liquid is rolled as it is, the friction coefficient during rolling will vary, the rolling elongation will vary, the mechanical properties will vary, and good surface gloss and shape will not be obtained. These can be effectively prevented by drying. Note that as the cleaning liquid in the cleaning device 20, cold water, hot water, oil-based liquid, etc. can be used, but depending on the cleaning effect, ease of drying,
If the gloss after temper rolling is taken into consideration, it is preferable to use hot water.

However, when temper rolling was performed using equipment equipped with hot water washing device 20 and drying device N21, the generation rate of fine paper due to interleaving paper scraps and foreign matter was reduced to 0.33%. . From this, it was confirmed that cleaning the steel strip during skin pass rolling can significantly reduce the generation of fine paper due to interleaving paper scraps and foreign matter.

It has the remarkable effect of being able to obtain stainless steel strip products with good surface properties by effectively reducing the occurrence of gloss and shape defects due to wetting caused by the cleaning fluid during temper rolling. Variations in mechanical properties can also be effectively prevented.
