Abstract

PURPOSE:To simply remove sticking substances from the surface of steel strip for cleaning it without necessity of installing another cleaning apparatus, by heating the steel strip surface and by blowing gaseous body against it, between the final rolling roll and the coiling reel, at cold rolling the steel strip. CONSTITUTION:The present method is a rolling method for the steel strip in which the stuck substances are removed from the strip surface in the same rolling line for cold rolling the steel strip, so that the steel strip is freed from stuck substances before being coiled on the run-out side of the cold rolling mill. For this purpose, the surface of steel strip is heated between the final rolling roll and the coiling reel in order to decline the surface tension of the stuck liquid substances whose sticking force is hereby reduced; at the same time, a gaseous body is blown against the strip surface in order to blow off the stuck liquid substances; as a result, the stuck solid substances are almost removed accompanying the liquid substances to be blown off of the strip surface. By the present method, the cold rolled steel strip can be obtained with a surface cleanness in the same level as that of the steel strip cleaned by the electrolytic cleaning process.
