Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the stable running of recording paper and accurate recording by detecting a pattern printed on the recording paper and compensating the displacement, elongation, and contraction of the recording paper. CONSTITUTION:An input signal (a) in relation to the movement of a recording head 2 controls a recording head driving mechanism 5 through an amplifier 14, a coefficient device 15, an adder 16, and a main amplifier 17 and compensates the movement of the head 2 in correspondence with the displacement of the recording paper 6. In this case, in order to detect the pattern position of recording paper 6, an optical sensor 19 is provided at the position corresponding to the upper part of the printed parttern 8 on the recording paper 6. The sensor 19 is always moved at corresponding relative speed with respect to the recording paper 6, and the movement in the direction perpendicular to the running direction of the recording paper 6 is detected.

Figure 1 shows a general recording device, where 1 is recording paper;
2 is a recording head, 3 is a sprocket drive wheel, 4 is a recording paper drive device, and 5 is a recording head drive device.The basic requirements of this type of recording device are the stability of the running of the recording paper 10 and the printing on the recording paper 1. It is the relative accuracy of the movement of the recording head 2 with respect to a reference line such as a scale line 1'. However, conventional recording devices have the following drawbacks.

1. Deviation of recording paper 1. There is no means for suppressing deviation of the recording paper 1 in the lateral direction perpendicular to the paper feeding direction, that is, the longitudinal direction. This is because the recording paper 1 inherently has low rigidity, and it is difficult to control the deviation of the recording paper 1 using the mechanical guide IFK. There is a drawback that the position of the IK-printed scale line 1' fluctuates, resulting in recording errors.

2 Stability of feeding of recording paper l. Generally, both ends of the recording paper 1 are driven by a paper feed roller (not shown) or a sprocket drive wheel 3, but due to the expansion and contraction of the recording paper 1,
Furthermore, the relative positional relationship between the paper feed roller or sprocket driving wheel 3 and the recording paper 1 fluctuates, which often results in loss of feeding stability.

The applicant previously filed an application dated February 3, 1981. Japanese Patent Application No. 56-14558 provides a method for correcting deviation, expansion and contraction, etc. of the recording paper 1 when the recording paper 1 travels at high speed. The present invention provides a correction method when the recording paper 1 is being fed at a low speed and when it is in a stopped state. In the method in Japanese Patent Application No. 14558/1984,
When the paper feeding speed is set to low or stopped, the pattern detection speed of the detection device depends on the feeding speed of the recording paper l, so it is not possible to respond in a short time in the slow state, and the pattern cannot be detected in the stopped state. This had the disadvantage that it was impossible to do so, and it was not put to practical use.

A senna (not shown) is provided for the purpose of reading 8.
As the recording paper 60 runs, the pattern 8 is scanned. As a sensor, if the pattern 8 is written with dark ink, an optical sensor (for example, an optical sensor) is used, and if the pattern 8 is detected using reflective or transmissive type magnetic ink, a magnetic sensor (for example, a magnetic sensor) is used. In the case of conductive ink, an electric one (for example, an electric resistance sensor) is used. Further, the pattern 8 can be printed not only on the front side of the recording paper l but also on the back side. This will be explained below as a rounded optical type for convenience of explanation.

FIG. 3 is an explanatory diagram showing the relationship between this pattern 8 and the output of a senna (not shown). Let the height of the pattern 8 be L1, the base lO of the triangular wave, and the distance at the running line 9t of the sensor be t, and the output voltage of the sensor for the bright area be 1E1, and its duration 81. Similarly for the dark area, -B , b, the following formula holds true: 〇a L a+b Now t = L/2 That is, when the scan 419 is at the center, a = b, and if this output is integrated, it becomes 0

Next, FIG. 5 shows an embodiment in which the recording paper position information obtained as described above is applied to correct the movement of the recording head 2. The input signal relating to the movement of the recording head 2 is generally input to the amplifier 1
4 and the main amplifier 17, but in the present invention, a coefficient unit 15, an adder 16t, or one of these is provided between them, and the deviation of the recording paper 60 is controlled. The movement of the recording head 2 is corrected accordingly.

It is assumed that one of the nine patterns 8 printed on the recording paper 6 always moves with a considerable relative speed to the recording paper 6. As a specific method, a sensor drive device 18 may be used separately from the recording paper drive device 4 for control, and a differential gear mechanism (not shown) K may add a certain speed to the recording paper feeding speed yRK. In order to obtain nine sensor speeds, a circuit 12 is provided in the output circuit of the sensor 19, so that only the period during which the sensor 19 faces the recording paper 6 is an effective sensing period.

Alternatively, the frequency component of the detection output may be used as a gating method. In other words, if the sensor moves correctly relative to the recording paper, the output of the sensor 19 will have a rectangular waveform as shown in Figure 7-a. By differentiating this, we obtain a waveform similar to that shown in the figure. When the sensor 19 is located nine feet away from the recording paper 6, the output waveform is as shown in FIG. This significant difference in differential output is used to distinguish between valid detection periods and invalid detection periods. Although it is possible to provide multiple sensors, since the expansion and contraction of paper does not occur rapidly, the purpose can be sufficiently achieved by detecting the paper position intermittently using one sensor. Even when the feeding of the recording paper is stopped or stopped, there is a sufficient relative speed between the recording paper and the senna, so that the same effect as described in FIG. 3 and 9 can be obtained.

Next, FIG. 9 shows a method of controlling the recording paper drive mechanism 4 based on the recording paper position information. Assume that there is 6K of recording paper. The optical sensor 19 is not fixed in ζζ, but rotates at a constant speed independently of the sprocket drive wheel 3. The sprocket drive wheel 3 detects the direction deviation by the servo motor 21, and drives the sprocket drive wheel 3 to run in the lateral direction by the same amount. As a result, the sprocket hole 7 of the recording paper 6 and the sprocket drive wheel 3 always mesh correctly, and stable feeding of the recording paper 6 can be realized even in an environment with severe changes in temperature and humidity.

Further, FIG. 1θ shows a case where a non-perforated recording paper 23 (same as the recording paper 6) is used. Using paper position detection, if the paper is displaced from its normal position, the angle of the paper feed roller 24 or the paper press roller 222 with respect to the running direction of the recording paper 6 is controlled to keep the non-perforated recording paper 23 at the normal position. It is possible to maintain the vehicle while driving.
