Abstract

PURPOSE:To duplicate a hologram of high precision with a small amount of energy in a short time, by using a liquid or semiliquid resin hardening upon absorbing radiation, especially UV rays without using a thermoplastic resin. CONSTITUTION:A UV hardenable resin 3 is placed between the patterned face 5 of a mold 4 made by plating a relief hologram with hickel or the like, and an opposite plate 1 made of UV transmitting glass or the like and a base sheet 2 in contact with the plate 1. Polyvinyl chloride or acrylic resin good in adhesion to the resin 3, small in absorption of UV rays, and almost equal to the resin 3 in reflective index is suitable for the base sheet 2. The resin 3 comprises a prepolymer having a radically polymerizable unsatd. group, an ethylenically unsatd. monomer, a polymerization initiatior, and an adjuvant. The resin 3 is sandwiched between the mold 4 and the sheet 2, pressed to enlarge it, and irradiated by UV rays from a UV lamp 6, thus permitting the resin 3 to be hardened in 2-5 sec without deforming, and separated from the mold 4.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a method for replicating a hologram. Holograms are usually made on silver salt photosensitive materials, but they can also be obtained by molding hologram patterns with irregularities.

That is, a hologram image is exposed to light on a dry plate coated with photoresist, and then developed to obtain a concavo-convex image on the dry plate. Thereafter, copper is deposited on the uneven surface forming this image to impart electrical conductivity. Next, nickel plating is applied using this copper surface as a negative electrode. After a nickel layer is electrodeposited to a thickness that can withstand handling, it is peeled off from the photosensitive material surface, and then, in order to provide conductivity, the deposited copper is melted away to expose the nickel surface, which is then placed in a mold for molding. is obtained.

Conventionally, the method of replicating a large number of holograms using a mold obtained in this manner has relied on a method of using thermoplastic resin as a material and applying heat recycling by heating and pressure to the material.

In addition, it was also possible to reproduce by injection molding, in which molten resin was injected into a mold, instead of pressure molding a sheet of resin as in Maehara's example.

Therefore, duplication is performed by zero-heat recycling, in which the temperature of the mold and counter-plate is raised to the temperature required for molding each time, maintained at this temperature for a certain period of time, and then cooled to near room temperature. Normally this cycle is 2@~
It takes 60 seconds.

On the other hand, the diffraction grating of a hologram is 1000 ~
Because they are formed at extremely fine intervals of 3,000 lines, it is difficult to completely transfer and replicate the unevenness of the mold onto the molded product using conventional thermal recycling molding, and the moldability against the mold is generally not perfect. Therefore, the product yield also improved.

The present invention makes it possible to mold a hologram image by using a liquid or semi-solid resin that hardens by absorbing radiation, especially ultraviolet rays, without using such thermoformable resin. Ta. According to the method of the present invention, heating, pressing,
Compared to hologram images manufactured through a cooling process, the manufacturing time is significantly shorter, less energy is required for manufacturing, and they can be molded (duplicated) with extremely high precision.6 An embodiment of the present invention will be described below based on the drawings.

FIG. 1 is a schematic explanatory diagram showing a molding method according to the present invention. For example, materials such as vinyl chloride resin, acrylic resin, etc. that are obtained by the above-mentioned process and have low ultraviolet absorption are suitable, and in addition, it is preferable that the material has a refractive index approximately equal to that of the cured resin layer. Note that the base sheet is required to transmit ultraviolet rays, but it may be colored. in this case,

Next, to explain about ultraviolet curable resin, its composition is mainly composed of monomers with unsaturated groups such as preformed ethylene silica having radically polymerizable unsaturated groups, and some polymerization initiators and auxiliary agents. 250-3 with the configuration including
By irradiating ultraviolet light in the 8oW11N region, particularly around 360mK, the monomer crosslinks the linear polymers to form a three-dimensional network structure. Examples of such prepolymers include epoxy acrylate, diurethane acrylate, and the like, and examples of hexamers include n-butyl acrylate and n-butyl methacrylate.

The highly fluid ultraviolet curable resin spreads on the top surface of the base sheet and is extended by 5 squares, and at the same time spreads in contact with the patterned surface (5) of the upper mold (4), and on the contact surface, it spreads into the patterned surface (5) of the mold (4). It fills up according to pattern (5). The thickness of the ultraviolet hard line curable resin layer is 1 to 70 μm, preferably 25 μm.
It is as follows. This is not only to save resin, but also to avoid deformation after molding. When irradiating ultraviolet light with a 2 kW ultra-high pressure mercury lamp and an irradiation distance of 25',
The time may be 2 to 5 seconds, and if the UV light is more intense, the time may be 1 second or less.

After UV irradiation, the UV curable resin layer becomes the base material.
It firmly adheres to the pattern (2) and easily peels off from the pattern (5) surface ν of the mold (4). The peeled base sheet (2) and the ultraviolet curing resin (3) combine to form a hologram having a cross section as shown in FIG.

The present invention has the above-described configuration, and when a hologram is produced by such a method, there is no need to recycle heat, which shortens the molding time and facilitates mass duplication. In addition, when the layer containing the uneven surface, that is, the ultraviolet curable resin layer, is completely crosslinked, the product has a higher hardness than ordinary thermoplastic resin, and therefore has a much higher scratch resistance than products made using conventional molding methods. It's improving.

Furthermore, the reproduction accuracy of the uneven surface is extremely good, because the ultraviolet curable resin is liquid and blends well with the pattern of the mold, allowing it to be molded as is.

Furthermore, in the case of molding by thermal recycling, it is unavoidable that impurities or solidified resin etc. get mixed into the resin material, which results in defective products, but according to this method, the UV-curable resin is Since it can be filtered and even minute contaminants can be removed, a molded surface with almost no defects can be obtained.

Note that depending on the application, it is also possible to provide a thin metal film on the surface formed by this method by vacuum evaporation or sputtering, and in this case, a reflection type hologram is obtained.

The hologram according to the present invention has a two-layer structure consisting of an ultraviolet curable resin layer (the unevenness is in this part) and a base sheet.
Although it is quite expensive, in the present invention it is used only as a very thin layer in the molding layer, so it is well worth the cost.
