Laminated glass is made by bonding two glass plates of the same size with a transparent adhesive layer such as polyvinyl butyral, and has the advantage of being strong and preventing glass fragments from scattering if it breaks. Even if a small-area part receives a breakage impact, the crack will start from this part and propagate over a long distance, resulting in loss of visibility over a wide area.

That is, the present invention is a transparent composite board composed of a transparent substrate having rigidity and a transparent protective layer made of a thin plate integrally bonded to the surface of the substrate via a transparent adhesive layer, the protective layer comprising: This is a transparent composite board characterized by being divided into multiple sections with approximately constant width joints.

According to this invention, the protective layer attached to the substrate surface is divided into multiple sections with joints, so even if the protective layer is damaged, cracks will spread over a wide area as long as the substrate is not damaged. Stay within the protective layer of the damaged section without maximizing damage.

Therefore, the present invention is economical and can be used for a long period of time without the need for handling, even if the protective layer is damaged over many sections and the transparency as a whole is significantly impaired. It is suitable as a large transparent wall material for use in areas susceptible to damage from flying objects, such as soundproof walls installed along railroad tracks.

In the figure, 1 is a transparent substrate with rigidity - for example, the thickness is 3
It is a polycarbonate resin plate with a thickness of about 5 m/m, and a protective layer 2 with a thickness of 0.55 to 2 mm is coated on both sides of this substrate 1.
The thin glass plates of about 100 mm are integrally bonded via a transparent adhesive layer 3.

The protective layer glass plate, which has a significantly different coefficient of thermal expansion than the plastic substrate, is divided into small sections at intervals, so the strain that occurs in the glass due to changes in the temperature of the surrounding environment is kept to a minimum, and therefore large-sized It is also possible to produce transparent composite plates.

The present invention is not limited to the embodiments described above, and can be modified in various ways. For example, the shapes of the divided sections 2A, 2B, 2C, etc. of the protective layer 2 are limited to rectangular shapes. The protective layer 2 can also take various other shapes, and the protective layer 2 can also be formed into a plurality of layers in the thickness direction.
