Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a step-down voltage by connecting a diode or a switching element in parallel with a series circuit of the capacitor and the diode of a series circuit having switching elements, capacitors and diodes. CONSTITUTION:Capacitors C1, C2 are respectively charged by voltages inputted from input terminals 1a, 1b through the first switching element S1, the second capacitor C2, the first diode D1 and the first capacitor C1 when the first switching element S1 is closed and the second switching element S2 is opened. When the first switching element S1 is then opened and the second switching element S2 is closed, the first and second capacitors C1, C2 equally charged are connected in parallel with output terminals 2a, 2b, thereby obtaining a voltage being stepped down by 1/2 of the input voltage.
