Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a ternary input circuit which is easily made into one chip, by connecting a resistance in parallel between the input and the output of the first inverter connected to an input and by connecting the output to inverters through two voltage sources to obtain two outputs. CONSTITUTION:An input terminal 1 is connected to the connection point between polarities different from each other of a diode 6 and a diode 7 through a parallel circuit consisting of an inverter 9 and a high resistance 10, and inverters 11 and 12 are connected to the other ends of diodes 6 and 7. Inverters 9-11 are CMOS- type respectively; and when the input terminal is opened, potentials A and B at input and output terminals of the inverter 9 are equal to a threshold potential VTH, and potentials at points C and D are VB+VF and VB-VF respectively because diodes 6 and 7 function as constant voltages VF and V-F, and outputs 2 and 3 output 0 and 1, respectively. When the input terminal is set to +V(=1), inverters 11 and 12 issue the output 1 together; and when the input terminal is set to GND(=0), the potential VB becomes +V, and inverters 11 and 12 issue the output 0 together.
