Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a head capable of stably and finely dividing ink regardless of temperature by a method in which an equal diameter cylinder is used as a liquid chamber and a proper distance is selected between a nozzle and a vibrating plate in the head having the liquid chamber in which the vibrating plate is provided in the face of the nozzle. CONSTITUTION:A liquid chamber 2 made of an equal diameter cylinder has a nozzle portion 3 with a nozzle 4 fixed to its one end and a vibrating plate 5 with an electrostrictive vibrator 6 fixed to the other end. The distance L from the nozzle 4 to the vibrating plate 5 is selected in such a way as to meet the relationship L=nlambda/2 (where lambda is the wave length of vibration wave propagating in liquid and n is a natural numeral) in such a way that progressive wave from the vibrating plate 5 and a reflection wave from the nozzle portion 3 are resonanced in the liquid chamber 2 to become a standing wave and the vibrating energy of ink at the nozzle 4 is higher. Thus, if applied voltage is constant, ink can be stably and finely divided even when temperature is varied.
