Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a head having a high stability and a high reliability for long-term use by using a structure in which the contact portion of the ink jet head with ink is made of a corrosion-resistant metal pipe which is fixed by the head body and a connector. CONSTITUTION:A metal pipe 16 is inserted into an electrostrictive vibrator 1 and fixed with an epoxy resin. The metal pipe 1 is made of a corrosion-resistant thin stainless steel and has tapered portions on its both sides. Then, the metal pipe 16 is attached to a head body 15 with a nozzle plate 5 and fixed with a connector 2 which is fixed with auxiliary nuts in such a way as to protect it from loosening by vibration. Finally, a silicone rubber 17 is packed into the head body 15. By this, the breakage of insulation due to the adherence of ink to between the electrode out-going portions 11a and 12a can be avoided, and the head can therefore be easily cleaned.
