Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent bubbling in a ladle and lowering of an iron receiving rate and perform desiliconization efficiently by specifying the ratio of the addition time of iron oxide into molten iron to a required time for iron receiving while containing the molten iron tapped from a blast furnace in the ladle.
CONSTITUTION: While the molten iron tapped from a blast furnace is contained in a ladle, iron oxide, and if necessary, ≥1 kinds of calcined lime, limestone, fluorite, etc. are added to the molten iron, whereby it is desiliconized. In this case, the addition of the iron oxide into the molten iron is carried out within 30W50% time of the first half out of the total required time of receiving the molten iron into the ladle. The addition ratios of said calcined lime and the like are 50W200kg per tone of the iron oxide. As a result of this desiliconization treatment, swelling of the formed slag by causing bubbling in the ladle and lowering of an iron receiving rate are prevented and the stable iron receiving rate is assured.
