Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the trouble of a buffer memory from influencing a main storage device by returning entire-writing operation to partial-writing operation again and sending an access request to the main storage device when detecting the trouble in reading the contents of the buffer memory. CONSTITUTION:If a fault is detected by a falt detecting circuit 124 during conversion from partial writng to entire writing, the specified entire writing to a secifying register 143 for a main storage writing byte position is changed to the original partial writing. Further, a part required for the writing is set to a main storage write data register 142 from a write data register 122 whrein normal partial write data is held. Then, the fault of a buffer memory is prevented from influencing the write data and a request for partial writing is outputted to a main storage access control part 150, so that a main storage device 160 writes normal data.
