Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent generation of noise and vibration by allowing jet pipes to be opened on the inner wall of the draft pipe in the vicinity of the runner exit port and allowing the high pressure water to jet-out from the jet pipe when load is cut-off.
CONSTITUTION: A plurality of jet pipes 8 are arranged and opened at equal intervals on the inner wall in the upper part of a draft pipe 7. These jet pipes 8 are collected by an annular water pipe 9 and connected to a casing 1 through the connecting pipe 11 equipped with an automatic valve 10. The automatic valve 10 is ON-OFF-operated by the signal instruction from the over-speed detector 12 installed on a power generator 6. When a load is cut-off due to some reason, a runner 4 is accelerated sharply, and the detector 12 detects this sharp acceleration, then the automatic valve 10 is opened, and the high pressure water is jetted-out into the draft pipe 7 through the annular water pipe 9. The swirling water flow induced by the runner due to ejection in reverse direction is deenergized. Therefore, the drop of the water pressure at the center of the draft pipe is reduced, and formation of absolute vacuum range is prevented, and thus noise and vibration can be restricted without setting a large draft height of a hydraulic machinery.
