PURPOSE:To demodulate an FM signal with less distortion, by selectively amplifying and emphasizing the carrier component of the FM signal by using a selective amplifying circuit, etc. CONSTITUTION:An FM signal having unbalance between both side wave bands of a low carrier FM system is supplied from an input 4 to a BPF1 to eliminate the signal in an unnecessary band, and then the resulting signal is supplied to a selective amplifying circuit 20 to be amplified so that the level of the carrier component is emphasized more than that of both side-bands. The output of the elective amplifying circuit 20 is passed through a limiter amplifier 2 to eliminate an AM component and supplied to an FM detector 3 to generate a carrier component at an output 5. In this case, the carrier component of the FM signal supplied to an FM detector 5 is emphasized by the selective amplifying circuit 20, large distortion is not generated even if both side-bands become unbalanced. Thus, the FM signal is demodulated stably with less distortion.
