Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect a multipath noise at a high speed without reference to the intensity of an electric field and that of the multipath noise by detecting the multipath noise by a difference in electric power between upper and lower side-band waves in a multipath noise detecting method. CONSTITUTION:An FM wave applied to input terminal 1 is distributed by distributor 2, whose outputs are applied to detectors 5 and 6 by way of bank-pass filter 3 that permits an upper side-band wave to pass through it and a band-pass filter that passes a lower side-band wave. In proportion to electric power values of the applied signals, detectors 5 and 6 generate signal voltages, which are compared by comparator 7, and consequently when detectors 5 and 6 differ in output, namely, when a multipath noise exists, both the outputs are difference, so that the output of comparator 7 will appear. Therefore, since the multipath noise can be detected at a high speed, this method is suitable for a mobile radio receiver.
