Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an electrophotographic receptor easy in manufacture and high in stregth, by forming an electrophotographic receptor containing a specified azo pigment as a charge generating substance, and a specified diarylmethane compound as a charge transfer substance on a conductive substrate. CONSTITUTION:An electrophotographic receptor formed on a conductive substrate contains as a charge generating substance an azo pigment represented by the formulaeI, III, IV, V, VI, etc. in which R is H or optionally substituted alkyl, and A is the formula II, etc. (X is benzene, naphthalene, indole, corbazole, or benzofuran ring and their substituted compounds; Ar1 is benzene, naphthalene, or heterocyclic ring and their substituted compounds; and R1 is H or optionally substituted alkyl or phenyl), and as a charge transfer substance, a diarylmethane compound represented by the formula VII in which R1 is C1-11 alkyl or a heterocyclic residue; R2, R3 are H, C1-4 alkyl, hydroxyalkyl, alkoxy-substituted alkyl, or cyanoalkyl; and R4 is H, C1-4 alkyl, alkoxy, or halogen.
