CONSTITUTION:An electrophotographic receptor formed on a conductive substrate contains as a charge generating substance an azo pigment represented by the formulaeI, III, IV, V, VI, etc. in which R is H or optionally substituted alkyl, and A is the formula II, etc. (X is benzene, naphthalene, indole, carbazone, or benzofuran ring and their substituted compounds; Ar1, is benzene, naphthalene, or heterocyclic ring and their substituted compounds; and R1 is H or optionally substituted alkyl or phenyl), and as a charge transfer substance a hydrazone compound represented by the formula VII in which R is H, C1-3 alkyl or alkoxy, dialkylamino, halogen, nitro, or OH, and n is 1-5.
