Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain highly pure fine pulverous coal, by sending said coal together with nonoxidizing gas to a dry electric dust collecting chamber under a condition in which the temperature and the moisture are controlled, and collectively separating ash particles.
CONSTITUTION: Fine pulverous coal is constantly and continuously fed from a coal bin 1 by a feeder 6 and mixed with a nonoxidizing gas A supplied from one end of a feeding path 5, and then, sent to a dry electric dust collecting chamber 2 by a blower 4. During the period of the coal feeding, the temperature and the moisture in the path are controlled to prescribed ones by a temperature controller 7 and a moisture controller 8, respectively. At the dry electric dust collecting chamber 2, ash particles C are collectively separated by utilizing differences in the specific resistances of carbon particles B and ash particles C, and the separated ash particles fall down into a hopper 9. The ash-free fine pulverous coal is carried to the outside of the dry electric dust collecting chamber 2 through a path 3.
