Abstract

PURPOSE: The titled composition useful as an engineering plastic having small deformation in molding and improved mechanical strength, obtaned by blending polallylene sulfide resin with a specific mica powder and a fibrous reinforcing material.
CONSTITUTION: (A) Polyallylene sulfide resin is melted and belended with (B) mica powder comprising ≥90wt% mica powder having particle sizes of ≤100 mesh by a JIS standard sieve, having a weight ratio of Mg/Fg of ≥2, an amount of bonding water of ≤2wt% and a startng temperature of dehydration of ≥400°C and (C) a fiber reinforcing material having a ratio of diameter/length of ≥5, e.g., glass fibers, carbon fibers, etc. A weight of the composition of A/B is 30/70W90/10, and that of C/B is 0/100W300/100. The use of the fibrous reinforcing material as well as the mica powder improves further mechanical strength without influencing the deformation in molding.
