Abstract

PURPOSE:To avoid developement of a vortex current and reduce pressure loss at the tip of the rotor vane of a vane type motor in which the rotor vane slides on the inner circumferential face of a drive chamber by providing the vane with rounding- off at the edges of its tip which corresponds to the intake and exhaust ports. CONSTITUTION:The drive chamber 3 of a vane type motor has in its cylinder 1 of almost circular oval shape cross section an eccentric rotor 2 closer to the intake and exhaust ports 4 and 5 of the cylinder, and the vanes 6 of the rotor 2 are rotated with substantially pressing contact on the inner circumferential surface of the drive chamber 3. The openings of the intake port 4 and exhaust port 5 are both formed as concave grooves formed at the center of the inner circumferential face of the drive chamber 3 of rectangular shape with their longer side running circumferentially. The edges of the vane 6 at the center which face the intake and exhaust ports 4 and 5 are rounded off. In this cas the length of the rounding-off on the vane edges is equal to or longer than the width of the intake and exhaust ports, In this arrangement developement of a vortex current at the tip of the vane 6 can be avoided.
