Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution of a magnetic bubble memory element, by constituting a divider with a groove formed to a magnetic material film plus a conductor pattern crossing the groove. CONSTITUTION:A divider is constituted with a groove cut at a part of a magnetic thin film plus a U-shaped conductor pattern which crosses the groove. For instance, a magnetic thin film 7 is formed on a GGG substrate 6 by the epitaxial growth process, and transfer patterns 8 and 9 are formed by the ion injection method. Then a groove 11 is formed by the etching method, etc., and a conductor pattern 13 is formed into a U-shaped over the groove 11. Thus the bubble magnetic domain is extended up to the pattern 9 by flowing the pulse current with a timing positioned at a part (a) while the bubble magnetic domain is transferring on the pattern 8 and so that the bias magnetic field is lowered. Here the pulse current is set at 0, and accordingly the extended stripe magnetic domain is cut to be transferred along the patterns 8 and 9.
