Abstract

PURPOSE:To raise the efficiency of cooling and manufacture moldings of uniform quality by a method in which molds are quenched by cold water instead of warm water and the circulation of the cold water is controlled so as to keep the temperature of the mold cavity at a predetermined one. CONSTITUTION:An injection molding machine is provided with temperature sensors 3 and 4 for detecting the temperature of molds 1 and 2 and temperature regulators 7 and 8 for controlling the circulation of cold water for quenching the molds. When the sensors 3 and 4 detect a temperature above a set value, the contacts C1, H1, C2, and H2 of the temperature regulators 7 and 8 turn ON, valves 5 and 6 are opened, and cold water of 10-20 deg.C is circulated in a cooling tube 11 to quench the molds 1 and 2 to a give temperature. Also, a refrigerant device 10 is provided in the circulation pathway. Because cold water is used for cooling, the cooling efficiency is made batter and the cooling time is shortened. Also, because the temperature of molds can be directly controlled by the temperature sensor, moldings of uniform quality can be obtained.
