Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the thermal impact resistance of a heat-resistant Cr-Ni-Fe cast steel by adding a specified amount of C, Si, Mn, Cr, Ni and B to the steel.
CONSTITUTION: The composition of a heat resistant Cr-Ni-Fe cast steel is adjusted to, by wt., 0.2W0.6% C, <2% Si, <2% Mn, 20W30% Cr, 10W25% Ni, 0.002W 0.08% B and the balance Fe. <0.2% C gives insufficient creep strength, and >0.6% C deteriorates the thermal impact resistance. ≥2% Si causes embrittlement, and ≥2% Mn deteriorates the oxidation resistance. <20% Cr deteriorates the oxidation resistance, and the effect of Cr enhancing the oxidation resistance is not so enhanced even in case of >30% Cr. Ni is added to stabilize the austenite, and ≥10% Ni is required, yet the effect is not so improved even in case of >25% Ni. Said amount of B is suitable for the B content to strengthen the grain boundary.
