Abstract
PURPOSE: To make easy the correction of timing axis error, by controlling the rotating phase of a disc through a phase error signal obtained from a playback color burst signal and a reference signal.
CONSTITUTION: A playback video signal is inputted to a burst separation circuit 3, a color burst signal is picked up at this circuit 3, and this burst signal is compared with the reference signal at a phase comparator 5 to obtain a jitter signal. Next, this jitter signal is applied to an electromechanical converter 7 via a servo circuit 6, and a playback element 8 is displaced toward the direction where the jitter decreases on the lengthwise of the track of a disc 9. On the other hand, a jitter signal applied to a variable frequency oscillator 12 controls the oscillation output frequency of an oscillator 12 and this oscillation output frequency is compared with the phase of the output of a detector 14 detecting the rotating phase of a motor 11 and the error signal controls the motor 11 with a motor control circuit 13 so that the low frequency component of the jitter signal is compensated.
