Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to position the video tape of the opposite VTR rapidly and absolutely by generating a reference address code independently of each VTR and by controlling reproducing and recording VTRs so that their address will be close to the reference address.
CONSTITUTION: Reference address code generator 9 outputs reference address code 8, showing the constant position of a video tape actual time later, to control part 7, which compares address codes 3 and 4 from reproducing VTR1 and recording VTR2 to code 8 to control signals 5 and 6 for VTRs 1 and 2 suitable to the reference address, and then controls the run speeds of the video tapes loaded in VTRs 1 and 2 to perform rotary phase modulation. After the address codes agree, VTRs lock themselves to a synchronizing signal. Since the reference address code can stably be output from the beginning, the rotary phase modulation time can be shortened.
