Abstract
PURPOSE:To detect minute and circular defects with a high accuracy and also, to eliminate or reduce an equipment, by carrying out simultaneous multidirection magnetization for the material to be inspected using a prescribed magnetization apparatus. CONSTITUTION:A magnetizer A magnetizable in multidirection is constructed by winding plural windings 13 on a core main body 12 formed in an endless shape and providing plural drum parts 14 between each winding 13 and also, winding winding 13' on the part 14. And the magnetizer A, an atomizer B and observing apparatus C are arranged by a transfer apparatus D so as to surround a travelling material to be inspected 11 and a magnetic powder supply apparatus E operating these mechanisms and a controlling apparatus F such as magnetizing, magnetic powder supply and light switching are provided with the apparatus D. The material 11 is magnetized by the magnetizer A by magnetizing current and magnetic powder is supplied to a leakage magnetic flux generated on a discontinuous part of defective flaw of the surface layer of the material 11 and the flaw of the surface layer is detected by apparatus pattern of the magnetic powder.
