Abstract

PURPOSE: To rationalize the advanced treatment step for an effluent from biological disposal process, by adding an oxidizing agent and a metallic ion-dissociating agent to the outflow slurry of organic waste water after biologically treated, dewatering the slurry, adjusting the pH value of the slurry and then subjecting the slurry to biological treatment again.
CONSTITUTION: Organic waste water 1, e.g. crude night soil, is treated in a biological disposer 2 at first, and a reagent 12 comprising a metallic ion dissociating agent, e.g. FeSO4, and an oxidizing agent, e.g. H2O2, is added to and reacted with the resultant outflow slurry 6 and the concentration-separated water 5. Thereafter, the reacted slurry is dewatered as such by a mechanical dehydrator 8 and then an alkali 13a is added to the resulting separated water 10, or the alkali 13a is added to the reacted slurry and then the slurry is dewatered. The dewatering effluent 10 is then subjected to advanced biological treatment 11. Thus, the advanced treatment step for the effluent from the biological disposal process is rationalized, and COD and color components are reduced.
