Abstract
PURPOSE: To remove the org. components in sewage efficiently by adding an oxidizer and an inorg. flocculant to the effluent and excess sludge of a biological nitrifying and denitrifying process for org. sewage then subjecting the same to solid- liquid separation and subjecting concd. separated water to biological treatment.
CONSTITUTION: Night soil 1 is treated in a biological nitrifying and denitrifying process 2. In order to control the sludge concn. of this process 2, part of the sludge in the tank is flowed into a centrifugal separator 3, by which it is separated to separated sludge 4 and separated water 4. The separated sludge 4 is returned to said process 2. The separated water 5 is mixed with the outflow slurry 6 from said process 2 and an oxidizer 8 such as H2O2 and a ferrous or other inorg. flocculant 9 are added to this mixed slurry 7, after which the slurry is agitated at 3W4pH in a reaction tank 10. The reacted liquid from the tank 10 is neutralized with a neutralizer such as Ng(OH)2 and is subjected to solid-liquid separation in a sedimentation basin 12. The supernatant is treatd in activated carbon towers 13, 14, and high concn. treated water 18 is discharged to the outside of the system.
