Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the heat collecting efficiency of the solar energy collector used for heating solar energy implements by a method wherein a plurality of unit heat pipes are arranged in parallel to form a flat plate heat pipe, which is connected at one end with another heat pipe in the intersecting direction.
CONSTITUTION: The flat plate heat pipe comprises two thin metal plates 1 and 2. At least one of the metal plates 1 and 2 is provided with a number of embosses arranged in parallel and having a given narrow cross secion. When the metal plates 1 and 2 are adhered, the embossed parts define a number of sealed containers 3. Each container 3 is poured with an appropriate amount of working liquid in a vaccum state to make a unit heat pipe. Further, at least one surface of the flat plate heat pipe is covered with a solar energy absorbing film 4. To the condensing side of the flat plate heat pipe is secured another heat pipe 6 in the intersecting direction. The other end of the heat pipe 6 is projected into a water tank or heat accumulator vessel 7.
